Eunice Scott Robles

Eunice Scott Robles, 67, longtime Pocatello resident, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2013, at Portneuf Medical Center with a room full of family at her side. Eunice was born on July 23, 1946, in Malad, Idaho to Walter and Jiammia Scott of Stone, Idaho. She grew up on the farm in Stone, Idaho and graduated from Malad High School in 1964.

Eunice and her twin sister Janice worked and played hard on the farm. The two of them found mischief and fun wherever they were. They were inseparable throughout their childhood and spent as much time as possible together as adults until the passing of Janice in October of 1976. Her childhood on the farm was filled with hard work and countless hours of playing and riding horses with her siblings and cousins. Later, she found sports and fell in love with softball. Few males could do better than Eunice at hitting or fielding a ball.

A couple years out of High School, Eunice met Harry Smith from American Falls, Idaho. They were married on November 11, 1967. Soon after, the young couple purchased a home in American Falls and together they had 3 children; Doyle, Tamara and Charles. After many years together they divorced.

Later Eunice met Frank Robles from Pocatello, Idaho and on June 27, 1992 they were married. She enjoyed spending time with Frank’s family and traveling to Texas and Mexico. Years later, they parted ways and were divorced.

Throughout her life, Eunice worked at several jobs, from building furniture at La-Z-Boy to cooking at USU. Overall, I think her favorite job which also happened to be her last, was as a caregiver for people with disabilities.

The last several years, Eunice has lived at Pocatello Care and Rehab where she was loved and will be missed by staff and other residents.

She is survived by 3 children; Doyle Smith of American Falls, Idaho, Tamara (Mike) Jablonski of Pocatello, Idaho and Charles (Michelle) Smith of American Falls, Idaho. 8 grandchildren; Stetson (Sarah), Lance, Weston (Ashleen), Brittany (Armando), Kristina, Jareth, Brookelynn and C.D. 8 great-grandchildren; Angela, Anika, Kayleb, Vanessa, Iradessa, Isaac, Karessa and W. Trent. 3 sisters; Lenna Roe of Stone, Idaho, Karen Cutler of Ogden, Utah, Myrna (Monte) Call of Malad, Idaho and 2 brothers; Neal (Annette) Scott of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Brent Scott of Stone, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her parents, and twin sister Janice Durfee.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. in the Holbrook LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. -12:45 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Horsley Funeral Home.
