Esther Catherine Lusk Bishoff


MCCAMMON — Esther Catherine Lusk Bishoff, 93, a longtime resident of passed away on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2001, in Blackfoot at an assisted living center.
She was born August 1, 1908 in Malad, Idaho the daughter of Perry Park and Blanche Elizabeth Lusk. She attended schools in Malad and graduated valedictorian of Malad High School in 1927.
She married Fred Ray Bishoff on April 27, 1931, in Pocatello, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on August 12, 1949.
Esther worked at Ireland Bank in Malad as a bookkeeper. Esther and Fred resided on a ranch southwest of McCammon for many years, and then in 1945, they built a home in McCammon. They lived there until 1999, when they moved to Blackfoot. When they lived on the ranch, Esther worked as a postal clerk for several years in the McCammon Post Office. They lived for 60 years in the McCammon area. She was a member if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held various church positions, including ward primary president, counselor in ward and stake relief Society presidencies, visiting teacher and teacher in various classes. She loved to sew and quilt, she enjoyed joking and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Survivors include: Her husband, Fred Bishoff of Blackfoot, Idaho; one son, John Perry (Gay) Bishoff, Annabella, Utah; three daughters, Gloria Fae ( Eugene) Anderson, Logan, Utah; Marlene Kay (Calvin Leon) Rowsell, Blackfoot, Idaho; Karen Ann Gladwin, idaho Falls; three sisters, Ruth Noble, Blanche (Vernal) Bailey, all of Pocatello; Fae Teacher, Seattle, Washington; 14 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, two sisters and two great-grandsons.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 31, 2001, at 2 p.m. at the McCammon LDS Stake Center with Bishop Wayne L. Weigman of the McCammon Ward officiating. Interment will be in the Norton Cemetery, McCammon, Idaho.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening, Dec. 30, 2001, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave., and on Monday from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the church
