Erda Colleen Waldron

Malad….Erda Colleen Waldron, 76, of Malad, passed away on April 6, 2012 in the Oneida County Long Term Care Facility. She was born June 8, 1935 in Tooele, Utah a daughter of Levi Thomas and Ivy Hope Parker Waldron. Colleen was raised and educated in Samaria and Malad. She was a graduate of Malad High School and later received a degree at Steven-Henager College in Salt Lake City, Utah. Colleen loved music and was a wonderful vocalist. She was known as the “Katherine Gracin” of Samaria. She sang on the radio in 1949 and also had won some Farm Bureau talent shows. She had resided in Salt Lake City and Provo, Utah and later in Blackfoot, Idaho. In 1996 she returned to Malad, where she has since lived. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She is survived by siblings; Lloyd (Orpha) Waldron of Pocatello; Levi P. (Marcia) Waldron, of Glendale, AZ.; Valois Orgill of Sandy, Utah; Doyle (Marie) Waldron of Samaria; Cody (Thelma) Waldron of Malad and Sherrie (Dr. Stephen) Johnson of Malad. She was preceded in death by her parents and step father; Ernest Waldron; a brother in law; Clive Orgill and a niece. Funeral services will be held on Thursday April 12, 2012 at 12 noon in the Horsley Funeral Home 132 W. 300 N. in Malad (766-4330). Friends may visit with the family on thursday prior to services from 10:30-11:45 am. Burial will follow in the Samaria Cemetery.
