Funeral Held For Erastus Z. Bloxham

Funeral services for Erastus Z. Bloxham, 79, Idaho Falls, who died Sunday (9 Oct. 1955) of a heart attack while hunting near Malad, were held Wednesday at the Downey Ward Chapel. Counselor Blaine Poulsen of the Idaho Falls LDS First ward officiated.

Mr. Bloxham was born February 21, 1876, at Downey, a son of Isaac and Ann Barnes Bloxham. A member of the LDS Church, he married Sarah Mae Wakley Sept. 26, 1894 in Downey. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.

Survivors are his widow, Idaho Falls; the following sons and daughters: Miss Lulu Bloxham, Nampa; Isaac Bloxham, Twin Falls; Mrs. Millie Jones, Malad; Mrs. Emma Thomson, Idaho Falls; John Bloxham, Pocatello; Mrs. Orra Jacobs, Mountain Home; Colen Bloxham, Shelley, Howard Bloxham, Boise, Mrs. Elena Barnes, Idaho Falls; Mrs. Delpha Webb, Pocatello; 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, two brothers and a sister.

At the services, the invocation was offered by Fred Browning; benediction, Arthur Thomson; dedicatory prayer, J. Guy Benson. Speakers were Warren Barnes, Blaine Poulsen and Lou Williams, who gave the obituary. Musical numbers consisted of the prelude and postlude, Pearl Davis; duet, Margaret Boam and Muriel Wilding; duet, Lucille Tibbetts and Esther Morganegg; solo, Jess Humphries, Pallbearers were Kay Barnes, LaVar Bloxham, Kenneth Thomson, John L. Bloxham, Roger Webb and Jimmie Bloxham.
