Elmer W. Atkinson

Elmer W. Atkinson, 71, of Homeland, California died Saturday, November 30, 1991 at Riverside, California.

He was born on February 28, 1920, at Samaria, Idaho, a son of Alfred Henry and Hannah Elizabeth Waldron Atkinson. He was a member of the L.D.S. church.

In March 1940, he enrolled in the Civil Conservation Corp or the C.C.C. and went to California where he has lived since then. He joined the navy on August 5, 1944 and served for two years. He was discharged on February 25, 1946. He then worked at Douglas Aircraft until his retirement.

He married Marci Rice in Malad on May 7, and they were later divorced. He married Imogene Myrl Neely on May 3, 1952. He adopted her son, Frank Homer Davis.

Survivors include his wife Imogene, son Frank and a grandson Alan, all of Homeland, California.

Also surviving are three brothers David, Lester, and William and three sisters, Vinnie Evans, Hannah Davis all of Malad, and Pearl Bradshaw of Firth, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

A military service was held at the Riverside National Arlington West Cemetery.
