Elmer Lee Bowman

Elmer Lee Bowman, 68 of Rockland, Idaho died Thursday, March 27, 1997 at his residence.
He was born on June 27, 1928 in American Falls, Idaho, the son of George Dempsey and Violet Uintah Wheeler Bowman.
He married Ethel Pease on May 27, 1945 in American Falls.
Elmer loved working with metal. He worked as a boilermaker and welder for many years. He made wood-burning stoves and fireplace inserts for many local residences. He enjoyed silver-smithing and making beautiful jewelry for family and friends.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing. The past few years he had an interest in genealogy.
Elmer is survived by his wife, Ethel, of Rockland; one son, Jerry L. (Sharon) Bowman of Placerville, Calif.; one daughter, Teresa (Raymond Bridges of Clearlake, Calif.; two sisters, Dorothy (John) Gilson of Williamsburg, New Mexico, and Helen (Ken) Harris of Salem, Oregon; four grandchildren, Ryan Bridges, Lisa (Will) Tinkler, Jeffrey and Julie Bowman. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, March 31, 1997, at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Rockland Ward, with Bishop Stan Schmidt conducting. Visitation will be tonight from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Davis Mortuary, 170 Idaho St., American Falls. Interment will be at the Valley View Cemetery, Rockland.
