Elizabeth Arave

Elizabeth Arave died on June 18, 1989 in Lewiston, Idaho, where she had lived for the past five years in the Orchards Villa Nursing Center. She had suffered from Alzheimer’s Disease, but died from complications of aging.

Mrs. Arave was born in Malad City on November 1, 1903 to Henry and Elizabeth Daniels. She lived in Malad City and Lava Hot Springs until she was married to Nelson H. “Jack” Arave, Lava Hot Springs resident, on June 25, 1925 in Los Angeles, California. She lived in Monrovia, California for 55 years.

She was a graduate of Malad City High School and spent one year at Idaho State University. She was a 4-H Leader in Lava Hot Springs in 1932. She was active in the PTA and the Mothers’ Choral Group. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors include her daughters Orine Wilson, Clarkston, Washington and Jeannine Doughty, Hayfork, California; her sisters Jeanette Thomas, Long Beach, California and Celia Stageman, Mesa, Arizona; her brother, Larry Daniels, Lakewood, California; 8 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Her husband preceded her death as well as her sister Rachael Vaughan and her grandson Robert Blake Wilson.
