He later moved to Idaho Falls to work on Dr Joe Mabey’s dairy farm after which time he moved back to run his own dairy.

He bought a milk route from Dee Barnes. He was busy with the farm and dairy he rented, and his milk route. He had plenty of support from his wife and children. Eventually they bought property in St John and began their own dairy farm. Later they built a home together. His beloved wife Merle passed away in June of 1979.

In December of 1980 Eldon married Jeanne N Jenkins. They continued to live on the farm in St John. Eldon and Jeanne turned most of the farm and dairy over to Mike and they got into the registered sheep business. After some years they moved to town where he spent the rest of his life, all while continuing to farm in Samaria. He enjoyed showing support to his kids and grandkids at the county fairs.
