Eldon David Corbridge

Eldon David Corbridge passed away peacefully at his home in Malad, Idaho early in the morning of March 18, 2010. Eldon was born on March 21, 1923 to Lawrence G. Corbridge and Mary Emily Tuttle in Bountiful, Utah. At an early age the Corbridge family moved to Malad, Idaho where a family ranching operation was started. Later, the ranch became known as Corbridge Brothers. Eldon graduated from Malad High School in 1941 . He attended Utah State Agricultural College for a short time before serving a mission in Texas for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Upon returning home Eldon renewed a friendship from his mission with Charlene Faye Petterson from Garland, Utah and later married in the Logan Temple on April 13, 1949.

Eldon loved the ranching business and for many years operated it with his brothers and his sons.

Eldon was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints holding many positions and always a student of the scriptures and was an avid reader of religious, political and history books,

Eldon received satisfaction in public service, serving on the board of directors of the Oneida County Hospital, Farmers Grain, Malad Valley Irrigation and Deep Creek Irrigation.

In September of 2001 he was preceded in death by his wife Charlene. Two years later on August 22, 2003 Eldon married Maria Pierce in the Logan Temple.

He is survived by his wife Maria, children; David (Maureen) Corbridge Malad, Idaho, Joan (Michael) Winston Shelly, Idaho, Jean (Steven) Edwards, Smithfield, Utah, and Kirk (Laura) Corbridge Malad, Idaho. 20 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 22, 2010 at 12:00noon in the Malad LDS 7th Ward Chapel, 200 W 400 N.
Friends may visit with the Corbridge family from 6:00 -8:00 pm on Sunday, March 21 at the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W 300 N and again on Monday morning from 10:30-11:30a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
