Eileen Williams John

Eileen was born in Samaria, Idaho, the oldest child of Llewellyn (Bud) and Mary Williams. She had three younger siblings – Joel Dean, Luanna and Gary.

Eileen attended school in Malad and graduated from Malad High School in 1944. After school she moved to Oakland California where she attended business school and worked for the Coast Guard through the end of World War II. She later returned to Idaho and lived in Pocatello where she worked for the U.S. Forest Service.

On June 18, 1948 she married Keith John in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Keith and Eileen are the parents of three children – Beverly, Randy and Lamonte. From 1963 until 1989 Eileen worked as an Administrative Assistant in the Publications Division of Morten Thiokol. She retired in 1989 after 26 years of service.

Throughout her life Eileen was a friend to many and gave love and service to all she knew. Many of those who were younger than her came to know her as “Aunt Eileen” or “Grandma John,” even those who may not have been related to her. Her kindness and sweet demeanor made her easy to love and she cherished those relations throughout her life.

Eileen was preceded in death by her three siblings, her husband Keith, her son Randy and her grandson, Jordon John. She is survived by her daughter Beverly Kunzler, Boise, and son Lamonte (Bonnie) of Burke, Virginia as well as six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and six great, great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 31 at 12 noon in the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N. Friends may meet with the family on Tuesday evening from 7-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:30-11:45 a.m. Burial will follow in the Malad City Cemetery.
