Edith May Stuart Harris

MALAD – Edith May Stuart Harris, 87, of Stone, died Thursday, December 22 in Salem, Oregon.
She was born October 12, 1901 in Malad, to Thomas and Annie Elizabeth Jones Davis Stuart. She was raised and educated in Arbon Valley.
She married Charles Edwin “Ted” Harris May 29, 1924 in the Logan LDS Temple. He died January 5, 1983.
She was a longtime educator and taught school in Stone, Malad and Snowville, Utah. She retired in 1963.
She was a member of the LDS Church where she served in many capacities, including Relief Society president and visiting teacher.
She is survived by a son, Kay Edwin Harris, Redondo Beach, California; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Thomas L. Stuart, Snowville, Utah. She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Funeral services were held Wednesday in the Curlew LDS Ward Chapel in Snowville. Friends called Tuesday at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home in Malad from 7 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church in Snowville for one hour prior to services.
