Edgar S. Illum

Funeral Tuesday at Ogden for Edgar S. Illum, age 81
Funeral service was held at Ogden Tuesday for a former Malad resident, Edgar S. Illum, age 81, who died Sunday of injuries received in an automobile accident Oct. 12th.
Mr. Illum had homesteaded in the North Elkhorn area and carried mail for a time. He received the Purple Heart for wounds received during his service with the US Army during WWI.
Born at Plain City, Utah, Nov. 11, 1887, to Peter H. and Christina Swenson Illum, he spent his early years there, later moving to Malad. He married Thora Mae Cluff at Logan on Dec. 6, 1921. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and an elder in the Fourth LDS Ward at Roy, Utah, where he has lived the past four years.
Surviving are his widow, a foster son, two daughters, 15 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and 10 sisters, Mrs. Betty Booth, Plain City, Utah; Mrs. Annie Williams, Ogden; Ophelia Meyers, Selma Dudley and Elsie Madsen, Malad; Mrs. Isabel Danielson, Mrs. Kathryn Mackey and Mrs. Hazel Pringle, Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Rae Pesci, San Francisco, and Mrs. Pearl Brown, St. George, Utah.
Burial was at Plain City with Ogden DAV conducting final rites.
