MALAD- Earl J. Hess, 64, died Friday, Jan. 5, 1996, in the Brigham City, Utah Hospital of heart Failure.

He was born Nov. 26, 1931 in Malad, a son of Joseph W. and Esther Lusk Hess. He married Ruth Marlene Crapo in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple Nov. 4, 1955.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and active in his High Priest Quorum. Earl was also an athletic spectator enthusiast.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth, of Brigham City, Utah; 4 sons: Lynn Hess of Salt Lake city, Utah; Garry and wife Annette Hess of Malad; Troy Hess of Lava Hot Springs; Darin and wife Jamie Hess of Malad; three brothers: Richard J. Hess, Melvin J. Hess, and Orvel J. Hess, all of Malad.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 9, at 12 noon in the Malad LDS Stake Chapel, 200 W 400 N. Friends may call at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N., on Tuesday at the Funeral Home from 10:30-11:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
