Doshia Jones Arnold

Doshia Jones Arnold, 82, Idaho Falls, retired elementary school teacher, died Feb. 15, 1988, at Good Samaritan Nursing Center of a stroke.

She was born April 9, 1905, at Malad, to Reese V. and Mary Ann Kent Jones. She attended schools at Malad, graduating from Malad high School in 1924. She attended the Idaho Technical Institute in Pocatello, Albion Normal School and the University of Idaho. She received her degree in elementary education from Idaho State College in 1950.

She married Ned Tovey at Malad, and he died later. She taught school for 15 years at Malad. She married Fred Clinton Arnold on Aug. 2, 1945, at Jackson, Wyo. In 1946, they made their home in Idaho Falls, where she taught third grade at Emerson Elementary School for 23 years.

Mrs. Arnold retired in 1969, after 38 years of teaching, due to ill health.

Survivors include a brother, Nat Jones of Idaho Falls; a sister, Rachel Leigh of Idaho Falls; and a grand-daughter. She was preceded in death by her husband and a son.

Her funeral will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. at Williams-Coltrin Funeral Home by the Rev. John L. Baglien of the First Lutheran Church of Idaho Falls. The family will meet with friends today from 7-8 p.m. and again on Friday for one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Graveside services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Malad Cemetery.
