Dorothy Louise Day Malott

Dorothy Louise Day Malott, 85 of Downey, Idaho passed away December 10, 2008, at her home in Downey after a long illness.
Dorothy was born in Downey, Idaho on September 25, 1923. She was the daughter of Norman Day and Anna Saluesen Day.
She graduated from the Downey High School. She went to the National Youth Administration business school in Weiser, Idaho, but when the 2nd World War started, she quit school and went to Utah to work at a war plant.
Dorothy married Adie Ray Malott Sr. on May 12, 1946. They met and fell in love while Adie was serving in the U.S. Air Force.
Dorothy is survived by a daughter, Sharon Lynn Nichols (Mel) serving an LDS mission in India, Adie Ray Malott Jr. (Laurie) of Downey, Idaho, a brother, Norman Lynn (Lou Donna) of Downey, Idaho, 6 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother Jene, her sister, Wanda and 2 great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Dorothy loved traveling, especially to Alaska and Hawaii. She loved going to Downata Hot Springs with her friends, spending time with her family, watching movies and was an avid reader, she also loved listening to music.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at the Downey LDS Ward Chapel at 11:00 am. Friends may visit with the family on Monday evening, December 15, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the church and on Tuesday from 9:30-10:45 am prior to the service.
