Dorothy Clark Price King

Our dear mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, Dorothy Clark Price King, 96, passed away at her home in Malad, Idaho surrounded by her loving family on January 25, 2018.

The youngest of six children, Dorothy was born on November 8, 1921 in Malad, Idaho to Alfred Joseph and Lydia Clark. She spent a happy childhood in Daniels, attended elementary school in a two-room schoolhouse until the eighth grade, and graduated in 1939 from Malad High school.

She attended a dance at the old LeGrand Hall and gave her heart to a handsome, young Marine Dale Price. They were married on January 10, 1942, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Sharon, Lynn, and Mark were blessed to be their children.

After Dale died in 1980, Dorothy married Max King in January of 1982, and her family increased with an additional six daughters: Suzanne, Maxine, Bonnie, Darlene, Mary Lynn, and Nancy. She loved the King family. Dorothy and Max shared 21 years together before he passed away in 2003.

She has had a life-long love of the LDS church and served in many positions. For over 21 years, Dorothy and Max attended the temple every Wednesday.

She was known for her kindness, caring, positive attitude and her love her family. She especially enjoyed attending church, reading, growing flowers and had a special love for roses. After working at the Malad Drive-In for 15 years, she purchased it in 1979 later selling it to her son Lynn.

Dorothy is survived by her three children, Sharon (Sid) Showell, Lynn (Connie) Price, Mark (Shelly) Price; six stepdaughters Suzanne Ware, Maxine King, Bonnie (Scott) Penman, Darlene King, Mary Lynn (Dave) Holbeny, Nancy Asay, 36 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, 5 siblings, and husbands Dale Price and Max King, and Tamara Thorpe Price, daughter in-law.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 5 at 12 noon in the Malad LDS 6th Ward, 400 N. 200 W. Friends may visit with the family at the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N. on Sunday evening from 6-7 p.m. and Monday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the Malad City Cemetery.
