Donna (Bybee) Burton

Donna (Bybee) Burton peacefully passed away May 28, 2009 in Downey, Idaho.

She was born February 29, 1920 in Downey, Idaho to Guy J. and Lareta Bennett Bybee. Married to Elward S. Burton on December 10, 1936.

Donna grew up in Cambridge and Downey, Idaho the oldest of 8 children. She attended Downey High School. Donna worked for many years at Larsen’s Market in Downey, until retiring in 1977. She was the friendly face that you looked forward to seeing when you did your shopping. Donna was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and enjoyed her church callings participating in Young Women’s, Primary and Relief Society.

Donna was an excellent cook, enjoyed quilting and the color pink – the hotter the better! She loved being surrounded by friends and family.

Donna is survived by her sons, Gary (Goldie) of Monmouth, Oregon and Wayne of DeSoto, Missouri. 13 grandchildren; Camille (Ian) Druitt, Lisa (Curtis) Webster, Michele, David (Debi), John (Angee), Doug (Kari), Natalie, Matthew, Joseph, Thomas (Maria), Tina (Clint) Cutwright, Brent (Pam), Travis and 26 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Rex and Jack Bybee of Pocatello, Ruth Thornley of Boise and Betty Austin of California.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, two children, Lanae and Blaine, her beloved husband Elward; three brothers, Keith, Jay and Gene Bybee, daughter-in-law LuAnna Burton and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Monday June 1, 2009 at12:00 noon at the Downey LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may visit with the Burton family on Sunday May 31, 2009 from 6 – 8 p.m. and again on Monday June 1 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Downey Cemetery.
