Don Rex Daniels

Our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Don Rex Daniels, passed away Nov. 15, 2016.

Don Rex Daniels was born Apr. 13, 1928 to LeRoy and Mary Daniels. Rex was married to Gloria Rae Thorpe Jun. 1, 1951. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple Feb. 17, 1965. They celebrated 61 years together before Gloria passed away Aug. 2012. Rex married Marlyn Naef in Mar. 2014.

Rex is known for his singing, good humor, horsemanship, and award-winning Purebred Hereford Cattle. Rex was an active member in the LDS Church. He held several callings including Bishop from 1990-1996 and working with Gloria in the Logan Temple for 8 years. Rex was a lifetime member of the American Hereford Assn., Idaho Cattleman’s Assn., and board member of MVI. He also served as a 4-H Beef Leader and several other community positions.

Rex is survived by his wife, Marlyn, his 7 children: Danielle, Cathy (Ray) Peterson, Don (Brenda), David (Diane), Danece (Mike) Hess, Dan (Teresa), Darin (Shawna), 17 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren with 3 more on the way; three sisters: Thelma Wakley, Lela Henderson, and Deon Jones; and Marlyn’s children and grandchildren.

Rex was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Ralph, Farrell, and Brig; two sisters: Lorraine Blaisdell and Fern Thomas, and a granddaughter, Jennie Marie Daniels.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 21, 2016 at 12:00 noon. Friends may visit with the family at the Malad Stake Center, 1250 N. 1100 W., on Sunday, Nov. 20 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Monday Nov. 21 from 10:30-11:45 a.m.
