Dennis J Carter

Dennis J Carter lost his difficult battle with an unexplained illness Tuesday, May 11th 2010 at the Long Term Care Facility in Malad, Id.
Dennis was born April 20th 1963 to Wayne and Linda Carter in Stone, Id. He attended grade school in Stone and graduated from Malad High School in 1981, attending 1yr of diesel mechanics at Bridgerland collage in Logan, Utah.
Dennis married Jackie Perkes of Tremonton, Utah in 1984 making their home in stone. They began their family in 1986 when Cody Dennis was born, and later welcomed Riker Jake in 1992. Dennis and Jackie started their family working a small farm and herd of milk cows, realizing that wasn’t good enough for his family Dennis sold out just 1yr later and went to work at La-z-boy in Tremonton,Ut in 1985, where he worked for the next 20 yrs until his illness. Dennis always helped his father on the family ranch and in 1996 he bought half the land and cattle. Dennis loved everything about the cowboy lifestyle, be it farming his land, working the cattle or riding his horses.
Dennis loved to hunt, trapshoot, snowmobile and camp but his true passion was rodeo. Dennis was an skilled teamroper and he also enjoyed team penning and branding. Dennis’s greatest joy came watching his sons participate in all their sports. It didn’t matter what they was doing, you could find Dennis out in the arena, down on the mat or walking the sidelines. He was always so proud to say “hey that was my boy”
Dennis was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as Sunday school secretary and ward and stake referee. Dennis was a licenced cattle buyer and parent advisor for the malad rodeo club for 3 yrs. Dennis never forgot a name or face and could make friends anywhere he went. He was very quick witted and loved to tease. Dennis will be truly missed but never forgotten!
Dennis is survived by his wife Jackie, his sons Cody (Tresie) and Riker all of Stone. His mother Linda Kindblade of Burley, 2 sisters Diane (Rondell) Skidmore of stone, Deneice (Matt) Tubbs of Malad and 1 brother Doug Carter of Paul, Id. In-laws Leon and Liz Payne of Bothwell,Ut and Dennis Perkes of Ogden Ut. 2 grandsons, Quade C. and Rasp D. Carter.Dennis is proceeded in death by his father Wayne Carter
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 17, 2010 at 12:00 noon in the Snowville Curlew LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Tim Munns officiating. Friends may visit with the family this evening (Sunday)from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Horsley Funeral Home,132 W 300 N, Malad, Idaho and again on Monday morning from 10:30-11:45 am at the church prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Snowville cemetery
