Dell Rees Madsen


Dell Rees Madsen was born October 11, 1939 in Malad, Idaho to Clifford Dalton Madsen and Erma Rees Madsen. He passed away September 27, 1994 at the Green Acres Nursing Home in Gooding, Idaho.

He attended schools in Malad and was graduated from Malad High School in 1959.

Dell was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was a four year graduate of the Malad Stake LDS Seminary. He received his Duty to God Award in 1957 and it was presented to him by Bishop Leo Brown in the Pleasantview ward. At the time of his death, he was an Elder in the Gooding First Ward.

He moved with his parents to Wendell, Idaho in 1965, and has lived in the Magic Valley area since then.

Dell married Sharon Nita Hoffman on August 11, 1967 at Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 14, 1979.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon, of Gooding; one daughter, Shelly, of Gooding; two sons, Vince, of Johnstown, Colorado; Johnny and wife Stacy, serving in the military at Ft. Benning, Georgia; 3 granddaughters, 1 grandson, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his father Clifford Madsen, Malad, Idaho; one brother, Sheldon Madsen, Malad; and one sister, Jeanne Schwartz and husband Glen of Pocatello, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his mother, Erma and a sister Jan.

Funeral services were held in Gooding, Idaho on October 3, 1994. Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery, Gooding.
