Delila Morgan Stanger

Malad – Delila Morgan Stanger, 85, of Malad, passed away July 3, 1993, at the Oneida County Hospital.

She was born Jan. 21, 1908 to David W. and Leah Davis Morgan in Malad.(Idaho)

She married George H. Stanger Sept. 4, 1939. They are the parents of Molly Dee, Mary Sue Johnson and George Byron Stanger.

She had worked for Horsley Grocery Store in Malad until she was married. After an automobile accident that claimed the life of her husband and two children, she provided a home for herself and Mary Sue, working as deputy county treasurer. She later served as Oneida County Treasurer for several years.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother to six and great-grandmother to five.

Survivors include a daughter Mary Sue and son-in-law, Ronald L. Johnson, Plano, Texas; a sister Viora Morgan of Malad; brothers David D. Morgan, of Arimo; Joseph and Velda Morgan of Malad; Orville and Marie Morgan of Nevado, Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband one daughter one son and a sister, Izola Price.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Malad LDS Third Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home, 132 West, 300 N., Malad, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Burley City Cemetery.
