Dean Y. Anderson

Dean Y. Anderson, 68, of Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away Saturday, June 28, 1997, at St. Alphonsus Medical Center in Boise.
Dean was born September 20, 1928, in Malad, Idaho to John William and Maude Anne Evans Anderson. He grew up and attended school in Malad, graduating from Malad High School in 1946. Dean served in the Army 4th Infantry European Command from 1950-1952. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Malad.
Upon returning from the service, Dean accepted work with Standard Oil of California and moved to Twin Falls. He met his wife of 42 years, Ethel Crane in 1953 and they married in 1955. Dean resided in Twin Falls until 1964 when he was transferred to Salt Lake City and lived there until his retirement in 1986, returning to Twin Falls in 1987. Dean enjoyed gardening, was an avid reader, sports enthusiast and loved to go for rides through the hills and country sides.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister, also by his son, Darwin Crane Anderson, and grandson, Christopher Michael Anderson.
His survivors include his wife, Ethel of Twin Falls; and sons: Michael and wife, Lynn of Dublin, Ohio; John and wife, Sue, of Olympia, Washington, Leland and wife, Anita, of Sandy, Utah, William of Salt Lake City and Darin and wife, Charisse, of Salt Lake City; and daughter: Leanna Anderson Hamilton of Sacramento, California; three brothers: William, Dan and David Anderson, and sisters Alice Beth McCartin and Marilyn “Molly” Lusk; and his pride and joy, his twelve grandchildren.
Funeral services and burial were held Wednesday, July 2, in Twin Falls.
