David Thomas “Tom” Deschamps

David Thomas “Tom” Deschamps, 59 of Malad, ID passed away Friday, March 20, 2009 of apparent heart failure.
He was born August 13, 1949, in Malad, ID to Rene and Melba Ward Dechamps.
He married Janet (Coburn) Nielsen on December 19, 1975 in Malad, ID.
Tom worked for the Oneida County Road Department for approximately 33 years. He was planning on retiring at the time of his death.
Tom enjoyed building Demolition Derby cars along with his son Dustin, and attending all of Dustin’s Demolition Derbies, wherever they were held. This year he will be greatly missed with the upcoming derby season approaching. His other hobbies included camping, hunting, and riding four wheelers, family reunions, and his pick-up rides around Oneida County and The West Hills.
He is survived by his wife Janet, two sons, Dustin (Nicky) Deschamps, Garland, UT, Todd (Cammy) Neilsen, his father Rene Deschamps Malad, ID, many brothers and sisters, Merlin (Pat) Deschamps of Ogden, UT, Sue (DIck) Robbins, Malad ID, Rosie (Ned) Sylvester, Riverside, UT, Quin (Denise) Deschamps, Pocatello, ID, Debbie (Jerry) Reisner, Garland, UT, Brenda (Don) Daniels, Malad, UT, Mike (Nicki) Deschamps, Pocatello, ID, Mark (Leann) Deschamps Malad, ID, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by the “Loves of his live” his grandkids T.J. and Cody Neilsen and Brayden and Bryson Deschamps, who are going to miss their Grandpa very much.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Melba Deschamps, son Brad Neilsen, grandparents, and a brother Dennis Deschamps.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday March 25, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. at the Malad LDS 5th ward, 20 South 100 West. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Horsley Funeral Home and again on Wednesday from 10:30-11:30 at the funeral home prior to the service.
Interment will be in the Malad City Cemetery under the direction of Horsley Funeral Home.
