David R. Evans (1853)

David R. Evans, 89, died January 27, 1952 from ailments incident to old age. Mr. Evans, the son of Edward and Alice Richards Evans, was born in Missouri, August 23, 1853. In 1863 he crossed the plains with his parents. The family settled in Logan and came to Malad in 1868. At the age of 15 he went to Montana where he worked most of the time with a freighting company.

In 1880 Mr. Evans Married Charlotte Parry. As one of the early pioneers in this valley, Mr. Evans endured many of the hardships incident to the settlement of this valley, and took an active part in the early development of Malad valley.

Mr. Evans is survived by one son, William E. Evans, one sister, Mrs. Annie Dives; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
