Darlene Harris Fowler

Darlene Harris Fowler, 61, of 232 Raviting a longtime resident of Pocatello, passed away Thursday evening at Bannock Regional Medical Center following an illness. She was born Nov 15, 1932 at Malad, the daughter of Alexander and Audrey Fidella Bowcott Gleed. She was employed as a mailroom clerk at Farmers Insurance Group for 15 years, retiring in March 1993.

She married Virgil Reid Harris Dec. 20, 1950, at Salt Lake City, Utah. They later divorced. She married Melvin Floyd Fowler April 2, 1990, at Las Vegas, Nev. He passed away Sept. 11, 1990.

Darlene attended schools in Malad and was a graduate of Malad High School. She was a member of the Christian Church. She loved reading the Bible. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting. She made beautiful things for her loved ones. She also enjoyed camping and fishing and was champion pool player and had won several trophies.

Survivors include: two sons, Greg R. and Leisa Harris, American Falls; Jeff V Harris, Pocatello; two daughters, Mrs. Scott (Sherri) Patrick, Bellevue; Mrs. Barry (Lanna) Lewis,
Pocatello; three brothers, James Gleed, Merlin Gleed and Dean Gleed; four sisters, Betty Hoopes, Neva Facer, Jewell Patterson and Fern Moser; nine grandchildren: Della, Laila, Camille, Brandon, Lehua, Pohai, Brittney, Shelly and Tyler; and two great-grandchildren, Kayla and Randy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mel Fowler; parents; a daughter Michelle Harris; two sisters, June Stokes and Gladys Hendricks; a brother, Dale Gleed; and a son-in-law, Randy Buzzard.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Dec. 20, 1993, at 2 p.m. at Manning Funeral Chapel 510 N. 12th Ave., with Pastor Tom Wood of the Bethany Baptist Church in American Falls officiating. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will meet with friends on Sunday evening from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Monday for one hour prior to time of services at the chapel. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Manning Funeral Chapel.
