Danny Gene Richardson

Danny Gene Richardson, passed away September 6, 2018 from Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was born April 16, 1947 to Leland Clawson and Helen Rasmussen Richardson in Ogden, Utah.

He grew up in Huntsville, Utah and lived in Clinton, Utah. He passed away after living in Malad, Idaho for the last 25 years. He attended Valley Elementary and Valley Junior High in Huntsville, Utah and graduated from Weber High School in Ogden, Utah in 1965. He received his B.S. Degree in Management Logistics from Weber State College in June 1980.

He often said that he had the childhood that most people could only hope for.

He married his high school sweetheart and neighbor, Brenda Dee Frazier, on March 16, 1967 in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake CIty LDS Temple on March 15, 1968.Together they had three wonderfuls sons, Michael (Kristi) from Malad, Idaho, Jason (Stephenie) from Farr West, Utah, Gary (Tana) from Clinton, Utah; and one beautiful daughter Danielle Thomas from Logan, Utah. They also have nine wonderful grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and one more on the way.

Danny retired from Hill Air Force Base on May 2, 2004 after 38 years of service with the last 22 years being a Supervisor Logistics Management Specialist in the ICBM System Program Office. He left behind many people that he admired and enjoyed working with. He often said that he was thankful for the kind of people he worked with.

He served his country as a member of the US Army in Vietnam and as a member of the US Army Reserve and Air Force Reserve. He retired from the Air Force Reserves in January 1996 as a Senior Master Sergeant. He met many wonderful people in these capacities and counted them among his good friends.

He served his Father in Heaven in many capacities including Elder’s Quorum President, Scoutmaster, Venture Leader, Stake Missionary and High Priest Group Leader. He is most thankful for the law of repentance.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda, their 4 children, 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, His brother Delwyn (Willie) Richardson, his sister Verlayne Harris, and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother and sister, Marlene Kap. He had been looking forward to a reunion with them once again.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be conducted by the US Army being held on Friday, September 14, 2018 at the Malad City Cemetery at 2 p.m. with a viewing at Horsley Funeral Home on Thursday night from 7-8 p.m. and Friday

afternoon from 1-2 p.m. Friends and family may visit during viewing hours as well as say a few words at the graveside services, if they wish.
