GARLAND – Cle R. Peck, 70, returned to his Father in Heaven December 30, 1998 at the Sunshine Terrace in Logan of Pneumonia, to join his mother, Viola, father, Ralph and nieces Stacy, Anna Marie and cousin, Alice. He was born February 16, 1928 in Malad, Idaho, the son of Ralph and Viola Delilah Richards Peck.
Cle was a Veteran from 1950 to 1952. He worked as a ranch hand for many farmers and ranchers in Malad Valley. He was a cook since 1948, starting in Malad and ended in Elwood where he cooked for Dave Thomas from 1972 until 1991 at the Cross X Cafe’ where he last worked for Jim Able. Cle loved to ranch work, build fences, ride horses, fish. He loved his dogs and cats and most of all his family. He was loved by many for his soft walk and beautiful smile. Cle loved to dance and sing country western music.
He was a member of the Garland 2nd Ward LDS Church. He will be surely missed.
Surviving are his sister, Mattie (Evan) Facer, Ogden; niece, Maralene (Jim) Udy, Garland. Cle lived with Maralene for the fast 27 years of his life and was very helpful in the raising of her three children and her younger sister, Roxie Ann (Gary) Andersen.
The family suggests that donations be made in Cle’s name to Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, to help defer the cost of the funeral expenses.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 4, 1999 at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 No. 100 E., with Bishop William Rose officiating. Friends may call Sunday, January 3, from 6-8 p. m and Monday from 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment, Garland Cemetery.
