Charlotte Parry Evans

Mrs. Dave Evans, affectionately known to the people of this valley as “Aunt Charl”, was called to the Great Beyond June 16, 1924. Mrs. Evans had been suffering for about two years from cancer and had been confined to her bed for the past few months. Her passing proved a blessed relief to her from the great pains, but it is always hard to part with such a good woman. She had always been a hard working woman, doing much for the advancement and upbuilding of her community.

Mrs. Charlotte Evans was in business in Malad for many years, and for about 35 years conducted the only restaurant in Malad. She made many warm friends by her kindness to all and her acts of sympathy to those in trouble.

Charlotte Parry Evans was born in Wales, December 21, 1854, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William parry. She came to America when but a little girl, moving to Malad in 1869 and residing here since. In 1880 she became the bride of David Evans, and was the mother of four children. Two daughters, Maud and Mary, preceded her to the grave and two sons, David and William, one brother, Thomas Parry and two sisters, Harriet Anderson of Ogden and Eliza Creeland of Leadore, ID, and ten grandchildren survive her.

Funeral services are being held today in the Second Ward tabernacle.
