Funeral Services for Mrs. Anderson
Funeral services for Mrs. Charlotte Matilda Henwood Anderson, 75, who died Friday (12 Oct. 1951) at Reno, Nev., were held at the Malad LDS Third ward Monday afternoon with Hubert Gleed presiding.
Mrs. Pauline Atkinson played the prelude and postlude and accompanied the musical numbers which consisted of a vocal solo, Melvin Atkinson; duet, June and Gwen Ward; song Singing Mothers of the Third Ward. The speakers were W. H. Rutter and W. W. Thomas. Lawrence Budge offered the invocation; Johah Evans, benediction; Cy Anderson gave the prayer at the home and Guy Benson dedicated the grave. Hubert Gleed gave the obituary.
The Rebekah lodge conducted graveside services.
Mrs. Anderson was born at Tooele, Utah, Sept. 15, 1876, the daughter of Richard and Ann Kirk Henwood. She attended school in Tooele and then married Caleb Orton. They were the parents of five children, four of whom are now living. In 1917 she came to Malad and was married to Eugene Anderson on April 10, 1922. Mrs. Anderson was an active member of the LDS church and the Rebecca Lodge and was also a member of the singing Mothers while in Malad. In 1949 she left Malad to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Ada Hill, in Reno.
Surviving are three daughters Mrs. Ada Hill, Reno, Nevada; Mrs. Lenora Strasbury, Provo; Mrs. Alice Hill, Carson City, Nevada; one son,
