Charley Ray Marble

Malad, ID . . .Charley Ray Marble, 82, longtime resident of Malad, passed away peacefully at his home on September 11, 2014. Charley was born on July 23, 1932 in Holbrock, Idaho. Son of Bert O and Alberta Marble, he was raised in Malad and attended Malad High School. Charley was married to Merle Jean Hess on November 9, 1951, in Malad and later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. The couple made their home in Ogden, UT where he worked for Hill Air Force Base for 37 years and then retired. Charley was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he held the Melchizedek Priesthood and several callings in the Church. He especially enjoyed his home teaching calling. Charley was kind to everyone he was around and will surely be missed by everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his wife Merle Jean and 6 children: Fonnie Miller of Malad; Charley Ray Marble Jr. of Nevada; Tracy Lee Marble (Trisha) of Malad; Michael Dee Marble of Fontenelle, Wyoming; Cindy Kay Mellon (William) of Franklin, ID; Carelyn Marble, Orem, UT; 24 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Bert O and Alberta Marble, brother Glen Marble, and grandson Shane D. Marble.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Malad LDS 7th Ward Chapel, 200 W. 400 N. Friends may visit with the family on Friday evening from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N and again on Saturday morning at the funeral home from 9:30-10:30a.m. prior to the service.
