Funeral Monday For C. W. Bell

Funeral services for Charles William Bell, 76, who died Friday (17 March 1950) at the Oneida hospital of a heart ailment, were held Monday in the Malad LDS Second ward at 1 p.m. Bishop Thomas Asael John of the Cherry Creek ward presided.

The prelude and postlude were played by Mrs. Margaret Laws. The prayer at the home was offered by Joseph A. Jones; invocation, Morgan Harris; benediction, Leo D. Williams; dedication of the grave, Guy Benson. The speakers were J. M. Isaacson and S. A. Hendricks. Bishop John gave the obituary. The musical numbers consisted of two duets, Mrs. Fay Hanson and Mrs. Wanda Napier accompanied by Mrs. Margaret Laws; solo, Keith Evans accompanied by Mrs. Evans.

Mr. Bell was born at Malad on April 7, 1873, a son of William Thomas and Elizabeth Kennish Moon Bell, He married Elizabeth Centenial Parkinson (6 Dec 1894) in Malad; (sealed 25 Mar 1896 Logan) Mr. Bell was engaged in farming at Cherry Creek section all of his adult life. An active member of the LDS church, he served in the bishopric of the Woodruff ward and Sunday school superintendent in the Cherry Creek and Woodruff wards.

Survivors include his wife; ten sons and daughters, William Arvil Bell, Ogden; Mrs. Elizabeth Vaughan, Mrs. Nora Williams, Mrs. Mae Richards, Mrs. Vila Facer, Victor Bell, all of Malad; Mrs. Verna Earl, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Lenna Hawkins, Murray, Utah; Mrs. Glen Lundquist, Los Angeles, California; Delen Bell, Redondo Beach, California; 33 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
