Charles A. Erickson, Sr.

Funeral services for Charles A. Erickson, Sr., former Malad resident who died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Helen Stewart in LaMesa, CA, August 29, 1946, of a heart attack. The services were held at the Malad Presbyterian Church.

Rev. Parrish delivered the sermon and Prof. S.M. Powell and Mrs. Lurline James furnished the music. Interment was in the city cemetery with Rev. Parrish dedicating the grave.

The following children were in attendance: Mrs. Florence L. Williams, Klamath Falls, OR; Mrs. Edith V. Wingfield, Austin, TX; R. Wilbur Erickson, Portland, OR; Mrs. Helen Stewart, LaMesa, CA; and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Erickson, Jr., Salt lake City; and Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Morgan of Salt Lake City.

Mr. Erickson was born in Sweden March 25, 1866 and came to the United States in 1884, residing in Delta, CO, prior to coming to Malad, where he lived 35 years and had a studio. He moved to California last February. His wife, Mrs. Mary Ortwine Erickson died in 1916.

Five daughters and sons survive, Mrs. Stewart, LaMesa; Mrs. Florence Williams, Klamath Falls, OR; Mrs. Edith Wingfield, Austin, TX; Charles A. Erickson, Jr., Salt Lake City and Robert W. Erickson, Portland, OR; also 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
