Carrol Lynn (Bower) Rhoads 1950 ~ 2009

Carrol Lynn (Bower) Rhoads died April 14, 2009 at home in West Valley, Utah following a sudden illness. She was born January 16, 1950 in Pocatello, Idaho to Alvin and LaVon Bower. Married C. Ed Rhoads on August 27, 1998.

Carrol grew up in Arimo, Idaho and graduated from Marsh Valley High School in 1968. She moved to Provo, Utah following graduation where she gave birth to her two children. When her youngest was three the family returned to Idaho, in which they made their home in Pocatello. Carrol lived in Pocatello until 1987 and then went to Hawaii for a year. She returned to the mainland in 1989, living in Pocatello, ID until 1992. She moved to Salt Lake City in 1992 where she lived until her passing.

Carrol worked for Fleming Foods until they closed in 2003, at which point she went to work for UPS Freight as an Administrative Assistant for almost six years. Carrol loved being around her family and friends. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, playing cards, dominos, and board games. She went camping with her husband every chance they got. Carrol and Ed got a new chocolate lab puppy in January and she enjoyed the challenge.

Carrol is survived by her husband, C. Ed Rhoads of West Valley, Utah of 16 years. Her son, Troy (Connie) Price of West Jordan, Utah. Her daughter, Staci Hansen (Alan Bosh) of Pocatello, Idaho. Three grandchildren, Kortny Bosh, McKenna Price, and Nicholas Bosh. Step sons, Dan and Dusty Rhoads of Kearns. Sisters-in-law, Pat (Roger) Orn of West Valley, Utah; and Sue Mecham of West Jordan, Utah. Brother-in-law, Karl (Lisa) Rhoads of Stockton, Utah. In-laws, Jack (Minnette) Rhoads of West Valley, Utah. Carrol was preceded in death by her parents Alvin and LaVon Bower and a son-in law, Steve Hansen.

A viewing will be Friday, April 17, 2009 at 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of West Valley at 3831 South 2700 West, West Valley. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 12:00 noon at the Horsely Marsh Valley Funeral Home at 570 North Meadowview Dr., Arimo, Idaho. A viewing will be held for family and friends prior to service from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at the Lava Hot Springs Cemetery.
