Carrie A. Clark Green Vaughan

Malad-Carrie A. Clark Green Vaughan, 101, Malad, died Wednesday, August 15, in the Oneida County nursing home.

She was born July 13, 1883, in East Portage, Utah, to Charles James and Sarah Helen Moon Clark. She grew up and received her education in Portage and Woodruff, Idaho, and had also lived in Marsh Creek near Inkom.

She married Cumer hall Green January 14,1903 in Malad. He died March 20, 1909. She married Thomas Edwin Vaughan June 4, 1914 in Ogden. He died March 12, 1950.

She spent her married life in Malad, moving to Shelley after the death of Mr. Vaughan. She returned to Malad in 1968 where she has since resided.

She was a member of the LDS church.

She is survived by one son, Vance Vaughan, Hawaii; one daughter, Mrs. Helen V. Morgan, Malad; two step­sons, James Vaughan and Del Vaughan both of Malad; eight grandchildren, 17 great-greatgrandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, four step-sons and one step-daughter, five brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Benson Horsley Funeral Home in Malad. Bishop Garth Sweeten officiated. Burial was in the Malad City cemetery.

Prelude and postlude music was played by Iris Blaisdell. Lawrence Budge offered the invocation, followed by the life sketch, given by Cheryldean V. Johnson. A vocal “In the Garden” was performed by Connie and Kristie Budge. They were accompanied by Iris Blaisdell.

Bishop Garth G. Sweeten offered remarks, followed by a vocal “How Great Thou Art” performed by Connie and Kristie Budge and accompanied by Iris Blaisdell.

The benediction was given by LaMar Thomas.

Concluding services were at the Malad City Cemetery where E. Spence Horsley offered the dedicatory prayer.

Compassionate services performed by the Third Ward Relief Society, Ilene Corbridge, president.

Casket bearers were Wilford Green, Richard Green, Leland Morgan, Wayne Budge, David Couch and Gerald Couch.
