Carol Dewey Jones

Carol Dewey Jones, 79, of Malad Idaho passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 21, 2009. Carol was born on May 27, 1930 in Malad, Idaho to Dewey Thomas and Charlotte Ione Evans Jones. Carol was the oldest of three sons. He attended Elkhorn School grades first through eighth. He attended Malad High School and graduated in 1948. He attended the University of Idaho for one year and then returned to ranching with his Dad. He married Deon Daniels on April 8, 1960. They spent their first summer in Elkhorn. That fall they moved to town and Carol started working at Thiokol and retired in May 1990, after 30 years.
He always enjoyed family gatherings with immediate and extended families. Carol enjoyed the outdoors, he was an avid hunter and loved fishing. He always attended trap shooting events. He really enjoyed snowmobiling. He lived for bowling, and done so for many years, he was on the Malad traveling league. He was a member of the Malad Eagles Lodge Arie #2042 and a member of Oneida Rod and Gun Club. He served on the Pleasantview Cattlemen’s Association Board. He was a member of the LDS Church. Carol is survived by his wife Deon, of St. John, one daughter, Diane (Dave) Anderson of St. John, 4 grandsons, seven great-grandchildren, two brothers, DD Parry (LaRae) of Pocatello, Wayne (Marilyn) Jones of Malad and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 27, 2009 at 12:00 noon in the Malad LDS Stake Chapel, 1100 W 1250 N. Friends may visit with the Jones Family this evening, Sunday, July 26 from 6:00 – 8:00p.m.at the Horsley Funeral Home 132 W 300 N and again on Monday morning from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
