Carl A. Evans

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday at the Samaria LDS Ward Chapel for Carl A. Evans, age 67, who died February 9, 1971 at his home in Samaria of natural causes. Bishop Robert Waldron will officiate.

Friends may call at Benson Funeral Home, Malad, Friday evening and Saturday prior to services. Burial will be in the Samaria Cemetery. Funeral director – Benson Funeral Home.

Mr. Evans was born October 15, 1903 at Malad, a son of John J. and Margaret Ann Adams Evans. He married Ann Eunella Williams, February 18, 1932 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He married Edith Price Lindsey, September 14, 1944 in the Salt Lake Temple.

A farmer and cattleman, Mr. Evans was an active member of the LDS Church and was Bishop of the Samaria Ward for 20 years. He received his education in the Malad schools, was a graduate of Malad High School, and attended business college in Salt Lake City.

Survivors include his widow, Samaria; three sons, John Jay Evans, Samaria; Theodore P. Lindsey, Etna, WY; Joseph W. Lindsey, Salt Lake City; 14 grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters, John A. Evans, Malad; George A. Evans, Bountiful, UT; Ralph A. Evans, Sandy, UT; Miss Pearl A. Evans, Pocatello; Mrs. Fred (Mollie) DuClair, San Francisco, CA.
