July 04, 1925 – January 22, 2013

Betty Jean Jones Richards was born July 4th, 1925 to Henry and Catherine Jones. She was an only child. She lived in Malad and Soda Springs, Idaho.
Betty married Victor Lynn Richards in the LDS Logan Temple on June 7th, 1944.
Every summer when her children Gay, Joan & Jerry were growing up she loved taking family vacations. It was always somewhere fun a good time was had by all.
Betty loved researching her ancestors and LDS genealogy. She loved writing family history for her family and relatives. She was amazing at finding the facts and pictures and putting it all together in a wonderful story. She also loved writing poems. She loved making cookies and candy for friends and family. She was known around Malad as the cookie lady.
She loved to paint. She was a talented artist all her life. She didn’t realize what a talent she had until her later years. Many friends and family have enjoyed and loved her work. Her art will live on through those of us who were privileged enough to receive it.
She was very proud to be a member of the National Society, Daughters of Utah Pioneers and a Member of the Malad Valley Welsh Society.
Active in the L.D.S. church, Betty held many positions including scouting, Relief Society, MIA, and Ward Historian. She loved working with the young and the old. She had a very strong testimony and loved going to the L.D.S. temples in the US and abroad.
She is survived by Lynn, her husband of 68 years. Children: Gay, Joan, Jerry (Chris). 4 Grandchildren: Trudy, Rob (Leslie), Jeff & Jessica. 6 great-grandchildren: Jacob, Catherine, Emma, Asher, Taylor Jean, & Olivia.
