Berton Elliott Williams

Berton Elliott Williams, age 69, died July 3, 1978 in the Oneida County Hospital of a stroke.
He was born May 24, 1909 at Lucine, Utah, a son of David Joseph and Esther Katherine Munsee Williams.
He married Rachel Mae Peabody on December 14, 1927 in Malad City.
Mr. Williams’ was a truck driver for the Crowther Bros. Milling Company for 30 years and a member of the LDS Church.
Survivors include his widow of Malad City; three sons and six daughters: Berton Elliott Williams Jr., Bountiful, Utah; David Delmont Williams, Twin Falls, Idaho; Dee Jay Williams and Mrs. James V. (Connie) Harris, Boise, Idaho; Mrs. Dewey (Ila Mae) Cunningham, Downey, Idaho; Mrs. Gene G. (Colleen) Richards, Pocatello; Mrs. Roy (Linda Lee) Snyder and Mrs. Woodrow T. (Patricia Ann) Lash, both Tooele, Utah; Mrs. Ronald D. (Diana) Parris, Bountiful, Utah; 37 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; five sisters: Mrs. James (Katherine) Hughes, Ogden, Utah; Mrs. Douglas (Reta) Nelson and Mrs. LeRoy (Margie) Atkinson, Garland, Utah; Mrs. Lenn (Velda) Jones, Dallas, Texas; Mrs. Clarence (Norma) Forsberg, Riverton, Utah.
At the Benson Funeral Home, the family prayer was given by Dee Jay Williams.

Funeral Services
Funeral services were held July 6th at the Malad Second LDS Ward Chapel. The program included: Myra Jean John, prelude, postlude and accompaniment music; Henry Pingel, invocation; Carolyn Ward and Jill Blaisdell, vocal; Cathleen Stringham, obituary; Bishop Hubert Gleed, speaker; Bishop Gordon Crowther, remarks; Eldon Corbridge, vocal; Stephen Peabody, benediction.

Concluding Rites
The concluding rites were conducted at the Malad City. Cemetery where David D. Williams gave the dedicatory prayer.
Flowers were cared for by members of the Second Ward Relief Society, Glenda Jenson, president.
Dewey T. Cunningham, James
V. Harris, Gene G. Richards, Roy Snyder, Ronald D. Parris, and Woodrow Lash were the casket bearers.
