Malad…..Bernice Price Lewis, 93, of Malad, passed away on February 22, 2011, in Malad at the home of her daughter, Wendy Rees. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2011, at 12 noon in the Horsley Funeral home 132 W. 300 N. BERNICE PRICE LEWIS

Bernice Price Lewis, 93, of Malad, passed away on February 22, 2011, at the home of her daughter, Wendy Rees.

She was born October 28, 1917 in Samaria, Idaho, a daughter of Evan Morse and Deloria Ann Peterson Price. She was raised and educated in Malad, was a graduate of Malad High School and later attended beautician school in Ogden, Utah. As a young woman, she worked for a short time at a beauty shop in Malad.

On a trip to California with her best friend, Leone, she met Wendell Lewis, who was serving in the military at the time. They were married in Manhattan, Kansas, and their marriage was solemnized later in the LDS Temple.

She enjoyed traveling and had been to many places throughout the world. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in various callings, and had worked in the Los Angeles LDS Temple as an ordinance worker.

She is survived by her children, Wendy (Gerald) Rees of mMlad; Greg (Annette) Lewis of Arroyo Grande, Ca; Kimball (Rafel) Lewis of Twin Falls, ID; four grandchildren; one brother, Merrill (Twylla) Price of Malad. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wendell, eight brothers and sisters, her son, Timothy (Lissa) Lewis, who passed away just days before her on February 18, 2011, and one grandchild.

Funeral services will be held February 26, 2011 at noon in the Horsley Funeral Home in Malad. Burial will follow in the Samaria Cemetery.
