Early Malad Settler Dies Very Suddenly

Benjamin Adams, 77 years of age, died suddenly at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Evans Saturday afternoon (19 July 1924). Mr. Adams returned to the home after a short walk and had lain down to rest when he passed away.

Mr. Adams was born in Wales to George Phillip and Sarah Ann Beynon Adams and came to America with his parents when he was a small child. The family located in Ohio, and Mr. Adams was a boyhood friend of William McKinley. He came to Malad Valley in the early seventies and has resided here most of the time since. Before coming to Malad he lived for a few years at Lehi, Utah.

On 29 May 1869 he married Mary Ann Clark, she died 8 May 1906 in Malad, Idaho and burial was in the Malad Cemetery.

Mr. Adams is survived by Margaret Ann Evans, Charlotte Evans, Sarah Jane Richards, Mrs. Mary Jones, Mrs. William J (Eliza) Evans, Matilda Davis and Benjamin Carlos.
