Barbara Petersen Bird

Barbara Petersen Bird, 80, passed away March 22, 2019, following a valiant battle with cancer.  Barbara was born August 23, 1938 in Salt Lake City, Utah, a daughter of Lawrence and Merle Petersen.  She was raised in Hyrum, Utah.  Barbara married David Bird on June 3, 1955 in Logan, Utah.  They were part time residents of North Logan, Utah until 1973 when they permanently moved to Arbon Valley, Idaho where they farmed and ranched.  She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she was active in Primary, Relief Society, activities, and music.  She was a mother, grandmother, artist, singer, songwriter, poet, and a friend to many.  She was beautiful inside and out.  She was a fun, creative, kind, and loving woman.  She is survived by 6 of her children; Jeff (Irene) Bird of Arbon Valley, Idaho, Brent Bird of Arbon Valley, Idaho, Lisa (Bruce) Hawks of Stormville, New York, Matthew (Vanessa) Bird of Willard, Utah, Leslee (Parrish) Turner of Logan, Utah, and Joshua (Aimee) Bird of Wamsutter, Wyoming.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband David of 42 years, and her oldest son David Lawrence.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 1 p.m. in the Logan 29th Ward Chapel, 792 N. 500 E in Logan, Utah.  A viewing will be held at the church from 11 a.m. to 12:30 prior to the service.  The burial will follow in the Logan Cemetery.
