St. George, Utah – Arthur ‘Elden” Bingham, 87, died Sunday, November 25, 2001 at Red Cliffs Regional in St. George, Utah. He was born June 20, 1914, in Ogden, Utah to Arthur S. and Mabel Stevenson Bingham.

He served a full time LDS Mission in Holland, and married Alicia Dives on May 4, 1939 in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived in Ogden, Utah, and Malad, Idaho, then moved to a cattle ranch in Stevensville, Montana with their five children. Elden raised hay, grain and livestock. During the 30 years of ranching, he was a member of the Hunter Grazing Association that ran cattle on 10,000 acres of mountain range. Always active in various church callings, they moved to St. George in 1982, where Elden became active in the Color Country Chorus for 12 years.

He is survived by three sons and two daughters: Mark E. Bingham, Smithfield, Utah, Keenan Bingham, Medford, Oregon, Steve Bingham, Beaver Dam, Nevada, Mrs. Lynn Jonas (Ruthee), St. George, Utah, and Mrs. Dennis Despain (Diana), Smithfield, Utah; 26 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one sister; and one brother.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alicia, his parents, four brothers, one sister and one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 29 in Washington City, Utah. Interment will be in Malad with graveside services being held at the Malad Cemetery on Saturday, December 1 at 11:00 a.m., under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673-4221.
