Annie Evans

Annie Evans, 90, lifetime Malad resident, died May 22, 1990 in the Oneida County Nursing Home. She was born December 17, 1899 to William and Margaret Price Evans. She grew up and was educated in Malad, graduating from Malad High School. She later attended Brigham Young College in Logan, Utah, Utah State Agricultural College and Albion State Normal, where she received her teaching certificate.

She taught school in Malad and St. John for many years. She was also a piano instructor until she was 80 years old.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions in music in the ward and stake.

She is survived by two nephews, W. Gordon Crowther, serving a mission for the Mormon Church in Guatemala City, and Rex Reynolds, Ogden, UT; seven nieces, Mrs. Dave (Merle) Lusk, Aberdeen, Mrs. Lynn (Betty Jean) Richards, Soda Springs, Mrs. Richard (Margaret) Harris, Elwood, UT, Mrs. Eyre (Valene) Turner, Logan, UT, Mrs. Reid (Lucille) Howes, Mapleton, UT and Mrs. Dick (Leonore) Bassett, Shafter, CA and Mrs. Woody (Sharon) Jones, Council.

Funeral service will be Saturday in the Malad Third Ward. Bishop Jared Crowther will officiate. Burial will be in the Malad Cemetery.
