Anne Ward

Malad…Anne Ward, our loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday October 19, 2013 at the age of 74. Anne was born March 22nd 1939 in Malad, Idaho. She was the oldest of five children and was raised on the family farm in Woodruff, ID. She had great memories of her youth on the farm. She had an especially close relationship with her grandfather who died while Anne was young. Anne graduated from Malad High School in 1957 and went on to LDS Business College. From there she served a mission for the LDS Church. Anne was a friend to all she met. She would strike up a conversation with anybody and was always willing to listen to what anyone else had to say. Anne married Steve Taylor on August 23, 1963 in the Logan LDS Temple. They later divorced. As a member of the LDS church she served in numerous callings throughout her life. She recently spent three summers and part of a fourth in Chesterfield, ID as a tour guide in a historical Mormon town site. Anne worked in the International and Student Scholar office at Utah State University and loved the international students. They loved her in return. She was currently a worker in the Logan LDS Temple and loved the calling because it gave her so much time to interact with others. Recently engaged to Sheldon Smith, a friend she’d known since childhood, she had found new vitality and purpose in her life. We are so grateful to him for his kindness.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents; Owen Delton Ward and Afton Creer Ward, as well as her brother Mark Ward. She is survived by three siblings, 12 grandchildren and four children; Ward Taylor, Nan Taylor Bassett, Lance Taylor and Chad Taylor.
