Alice LaRue Christensen Muir

April 15, 2018 – Alice (LaRue) Christensen Muir went home to her Heavenly Father after a courageous battle with cancer. LaRue was born on June 29, 1946 in Pocatello, Idaho to Thain George Christensen and Mary Alice Gunter and was the oldest of 8 children. LaRue spent her childhood in Pocatello and the surrounding area and was in the first graduating class of Highland High School in 1964. After graduating, LaRue met the love of her life; Stephen L Muir Jr. They were married on October 15, 1965 and would celebrate 53 years together this October. On April 1, 1968, Steve and LaRue were sealed in the Salt Lake City, Utah temple. Steve and LaRue had 5 children; Stephen III, Theron-Ray, Pollyanna, Brian and Rebecca. LaRue was a loving and caring person who loved her family and extended family and dedicated her entire life to them. LaRue was well known for her wedding cakes, wood-working, cooking, canning and most of all for doing hair. LaRue had a firm testimony of the Savior and enjoyed her various callings as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was welcomed in death by her father, mother, brother Bob, brother-in-law Max, Sisters-in-law Kathy and Judy, and her in-laws Stephen and Mona. She is survived by her husband Stephen, her children Stephen III, Theron-Ray (Sunny), Pollyanna (Kurt), Brian (Nicki), Rebecca (Larry). She is also survived by her siblings Edsel, Elwin (Dawna), Peggy (Darwin), Penny (Scott), Brenda (Kirk), Michael (Michelle) and her 15 grandchildren. Her family would like to thank the compassionate staff at Horizon Hospice and her supportive, loving family, ward family and friends. Funeral services will be held at the LDS church on Independence and Chubbuck Rd. on Friday, April 20th at 11 am. A viewing will be held at the same church on Thursday, April 19th from 6-8 pm and for one hour prior to the service.
