Alice Geneva Ray

Alice Geneva Ray, 90 formally of McCammon, Idaho joined her eternal companion on July 24th [2016] in Kennewick, Washington. Alice was born in Sterling, Idaho to Dean and Geneva Grover on August 6th, 1925. She had many happy memories there and in Wyoming, as her father traveled for work. She moved to McCammon in 1933 and graduated from McCammon schools. She was very athletic and enjoyed many school activities. The family lived in Reddivile until her marriage to Calvin Willard Ray on June 8th,1942. They spent a short time in Mobile, Alabama, where she was a secretary and Calvin did his Military training. They returned to Pocatello, Idaho and she graduated from the beauty college at ISU. They soon made their home in McCammon where she worked as a hairdresser and homemaker, Calvin worked as a carpenter and later as a building contractor with his sons. Alice was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and enjoyed serving. She loved her 6 children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her family remembers her as an excellent homemaker, cook and candy maker. She had great love of her home, yard and garden which she maintained on her own for many years. An avid sports fan, she loved the Utah Jazz and had many fun discussions with her sons about the games. She moved to Kennewick Washington at 82 to be near her daughter Lana Boyce and continued to live independently until her passing. She is survived by her 6 children, Dean Ray of Wasilla, Alaska, John Ray of Park City, Utah, Lana Boyce of Kennewick, Washington, Duff Ray of Skagway, Alaska, Chad Ray, of West Valley, Utah and Jayme Williamson of South Jordan, Utah. 23 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Calvin, her parents and brother. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 30th at 11 am at the McCammon LDS Stake Center. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 10-10:45 am prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Norton Cemetery.
