Ada Johnson Allen

Ada Johnson Allen, 97, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, former resident of Teton Valley, died Wednesday, May 8, 1996 in Malad, Idaho.

She was born May 7, 1899, in Hyrum, Utah, to David Nephi and Mina Hansen Johnson. On May 22, 1918 she married her sweetheart, Charles Marshall Allen in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Together they owned and operated the Allen Mercantile in Driggs, Idaho, for many years.

As a member of the Driggs LDS Ward she accepted many callings to be of service, which included being president of the Primary and the Relief Society. She enjoyed the youth of the church in the MIA (Mutual), Primary and Sunday school.

She is survived by her five children, Bernice and her husband, Reed O. Christensen of St. George, Utah, Verlin M. Allen and wife, Verna, of Malad, Idaho, Kenneth d. Allen and wife, Lauraine, of Montpelier, Idaho, Valene and husband, Fred Riddle, of Centerville, Utah, and Georgia Rae of Riverside, California. Her crowning glory were her 19 grandchildren, her 74 great-grandchildren and her two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, parents, two brothers, one sister and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 11, 1996, at 11 a.m. In Malad, Chapel, 132 W. 300 N., where friends may call on Saturday one hour before the services. Interment will be in the Driggs, Idaho Cemetery.
