Ada Ashton Braker Atkinson

SERVICES IN CALIFORNIA FOR FORMER RESIDENT

Funeral services were conducted at Eureka, California Saturday, December 22, 1962, for Mrs. Chris (Ada) Ashton Atkinson, 40, who died at O’Brien, California Wednesday, December 19, 1962 of asphyxiation when the home in which she was living caught fire during the night.

Mr. Atkinson, a construction worker, was working a night shift and wasn’t at home when the fire began.

Mrs. Atkinson was born October 3, 1922 at Malad, Idaho, a daughter of Lee and Jane Thorpe Ashton. She married Leslie Owen Braker April 26, 1943 at California. He was killed in an airplane crash June 10, 1951, at Hibbings, Minnesota. She later married Chris Atkinson, Eureka, California.

She is survived by her husband, Ureka; two children, Leslie and Cheryl Braker, Malad; and the following brothers and sisters, Wilford Ashton, Poplar, Montana; Mrs. Dave (Josephine) Hunter, Rockland, Idaho; Lavar Ashton, Salt Lake City; Floyd Ashton, San Diego; Mrs. Otis (Irene) Davey, Laguna Beach, Calif.; Mrs. LaMar (Annabelle) Thomas, Malad.

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas, Leslie and Cheryl Braker, Malad; Wilford Ashton, Poplar, Montana; Mrs. Josephine Hunter, Rockland; Lavar Ashton, Salt Lake City, left together Friday morning, December 21 to attend services, returning Sunday evening.
