Elizabeth B. Vaughan

Mrs. Elizabeth B. Vaughan, 71, of 274 30th, died this morning in a local nursing home of cancer.

Mrs. Vaughan was born June 20, 1897, in Portage, Utah, a daughter of Charles William and Elizabeth Parkinson Ball.

She was reared and educated in Portage and Woodruff, Utah.

On April 15, 1915, she was married to Edwin Vaughan Jr. in Woodruff. They received endowments in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on March 24, 1964. Mr. Vaughan died Feb 8. 1968.

The family resided Malad, Idaho, and came to Ogden in 1950.

Mrs. Vaughan started working at the Ogden Arsenal in 1950 and transferred to Hill Air Force Base in 1951. She retired in 1956.

She was a member of the 11th LDS Ward and had been a Relief Society teacher.

Surviving are one son and two daughters, Glen E. Vaughan, Mrs. Frank (Fern) Browning, both of Pico Rivera. Calif., Mrs. Willard R. (Grace) Bailey, Ogden; eight grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren.

Services conducted
for Mrs. Vaughan

Graveside services were conducted Monday at Malad for a former resident, Mrs. Elizabeth B. Vaughan, 71, who died Friday at Ogden of cancer.

Funeral services were held earlier in the day at the Chapel of Flowers Mortuary in Ogden. Bishop Harry Nasfell of the 11th Ward officiating.

Mrs. Vaughan was born June 20, 1897, at Portage, Utah, a daughter of Charles William and Elizabeth Parkinson Bell. She was married to Edwin Vaughan, Jr., April 15, 1915, at Woodruff and the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mr. Vaughan died Feb. 8, 1968.

An Ogden resident since 1950, Mrs. Vaughan was an employee at Hill Air Force Base and retired in 1956. She was a member of the LDS Church.

Surviving are a son and two daughters. Glen E. Vaughan, Mrs. Frank (Fern) Browning, both of Pico Rivera. California; Mrs. Willard R. (Grace) Bailey, Ogden; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Arvil Bell, Ogden; Victor Bell, Mrs. Bud (Mary) Richards, Mrs. Francis (Vila) Facer, all of Malad; Dellon Bell, Sandy, Utah; Mrs. Vera Earl, Salt Lake City, Mrs. Farrel (Lena) Hawkins, Murray, Utah; Mrs. Glen (Fay) Lundquist, Maronga Valley, California.
