Funeral Tuesday for Sevil F. Illum
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at the Malad LDS First ward chapel for Sevil F. Illum, 79, who died-Saturday following a lingering illness.
Mr., Ilium was born April 11, | 1876 in Denmark and came to the United States with his parents while he was still a small boy.
He was reared and educated at Willard. Utah and the family moved to St. John and engaged in farming. He married Nellie Beard on Oct. 22, 1913, at Malad. Mr. Ilium was a member of the LDS Church, Elks and the IOOF until 1945, holding offices of captain and patriarch militant. He served as a school trustee of the Elkhorn School District for several years.
Surviving are his widow, Malad: three sons and two daughters, Mrs. Beth Nelson, Burns, Oregon; Fred Ilium, Warenton. Oregon; Mrs. Nellis Nelson, Ogden; Devere and Elmer Ilium, RFD 1, Malad; 10 grandchildren, three brothers and ten sisters.
Bishop D. Dredge Thomas officiated at the services and also gave the obituary. Speakers were Jos. M. Isaacson and Thos. VV. Richards. Family prayer was offered by James G. Vaughan; invocation, G. Howard Neal; invocation, Arch Harris; dedicatory prayer, J Guy Benson. Musical numbers consisted of prelude and postlude, Mrs. Emma Ward; vocal solos. Blair Gleed, Helen E. Jones, Jenkin Palmer. Casket bearers “were Keith Dudley, Reed Madsen. L. W. Danilson, Roy Pringle, Ross D. Nelson, Toney D. Nelson. Honorary casket bearers were members of the IOOF Lodge.
